In different areas, more than 100 incidents were attended. These included damage to cars and street furniture as well as falling poles, overhead cables and trees. The tours continue to be conducted.

In order to respond to the damages caused by this afternoon’s strong storm, the Municipality deployed a large number of teams. The intense wind gusts caused many trees to be uprooted, as well as poles, overhead cables, and even power lines.

The municipal teams then started the tour of areas deemed risky, and began to address the various incidents that were referred 105.

The first callers were a result of tree branches falling on parked vehicles at the following locations: 47 Los Tilos Street, Tres Cerritos neighborhood; Necochea Corner Dean Funes; Juan Carlos Sanchez Street, in front of Ciudad del Milagro Neighborhood Square and Monsenor Perez Corner Monsenor Vergara Height Access to Progreso.

Large trees and branches have fallen in several areas of San Martin Park. One example is the Catamarca perimeter between San Martin Avenue & Mendoza, and another in Miramar Passage, between Buenos Aires & Cordoba.

Damage was also found in the neighborhoods of Villa Lavalle and Sanidad as well as Norte Grande, Democracia, Democracia and Norte Grande.

In different parts of the City, the falling of poles for public services was confirmed. The borrowing companies replaced them.

Police and other authorities responded to reports in the north, west, and southeast of the country about roofs being blown off.

In the evening, municipal staff and mobile phones were used to conduct preventive surveys of different areas on the risk map.

Jorge Altamirano expressed, “We ask that the community do not be alarmed, and that they continue to take all of the precautions that we’ve been suggesting every time one of these weather phenomena is activated.”

The official said, “We will have six crews rotating through all of the areas that are first responders to clear and normalize the sectors with fallen poles and trees.”

The National Meteorological Service released a report that indicated the arrival of the coldfront was accompanied by average gusts between 70 and 75 km/hr from the east, which caused a drop in the maximum temperature.

The SMN has issued a yellow alert for storms in the afternoon, which is valid between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. and affects the Salta Capital area, Cerrillos and Guachipas and La Vina as well as the lower areas of Chicoana La Caldera Rosario de Lerma Cafayate and Chicoana.

Storms will affect the area, with some being locally powerful. The storms are expected to be accompanied with gusts of wind, hail and strong electrical activity.
